Nine weeks and Milk Baby Milk!

Nine weeks!

My baby girl is nine weeks and wow so much has occurred since the last update. First, Brielle is way more pleasant and is actively smiling now. Next, she pays more attention to her surroundings. I find her staring at the fan, lights, and walls. She is also accustomed to someone riding in the backseat with her so if she's alone, she starts to cry. Brielle has grown in size, weighing 9lbs 13ozs, 22inches long and is wearing a size three months in clothing. I am loving how she is looking more and more like me everyday. Another detail I notice is that she is drooling way more than before. I have read that its because she doesn't know how to swallow her saliva yet. Supposedly she should be expecting teeth in a  few weeks, not looking forward to that(babies tend to be miserable while teething). In other news, I went back to working two jobs this week. It was hard! I didn't think I could do it because I didn't like the thought of spending all that time away from my princess. My aunt babysits her while I work. Our days start at 7am and end most nights at 9pm. Although she seems to be adjusting well to our new schedule, I dread being away from my daughter. Mostly, I fear missing all her milestones! Something has got to give…

Breastfeeding Update:

I am currently doing both formula and breastfeeding (20/80). I have been literally stressing myself over not being able to produce sufficient amount of milk to pump. I was barely pumping one ounce each breast. However, I have been recently reinspired. My lactation consultant gave me a manual pump and I have been using that for the past few days. She also assured me that while it would be beneficial to solely breastfeed my daughter, its not the end of the world. I just have to be more positive in my energy and make more of an effort. She encouraged me to pump while at work if at all possible and constantly maintain positive thoughts. Since then, I have pumped at least two ounces from one breast. I am on the road to 100% breastfeeding! Yay!
